Throwing Large Pots with Chad Brown: A Two-Day Workshop at 43rd Street Studios
Join 5th-generation Seagrove potter Chad Brown for an immersive weekend workshop focused on creating large, full-bodied pots on the wheel. This two-day class is designed for intermediate throwers who are ready to expand their skills and tackle more ambitious scale.
Chad brings decades of experience shaped by deep roots in North Carolina pottery, traditional production techniques, and a life spent turning pots. His workshops are as insightful and generous as his pots, and students can expect personal guidance and technical tips.
You'll learn strategies for centering and throwing large amounts of clay, building height and volume, and managing form and weight. Whether you’re looking to refine your technique or push your scale, this hands-on class will help you grow as a potter.
Dates: Saturday, August 30th, 9am-5pm and Sunday, August 31st, 9am-5pm
